Deadline: For the 2015 – 2016 fellowship year, the deadline is August 31, 2013.

Prerequisite: Must be board-eligible or board-certified at time of fellowship

Requirements:

  • Transcript of medical school record (original certified copy)
  • Medical school Dean's recommendation (original certified copy)
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation, including former chief(s) of service

Requirements:

  • Application form

  • Three (3) letters of recommendation (including former chief of service)
  • Exact proposed dates of training (no weekend dates)
  • Personal Statement
  • Transcript of medical school record
  • Medical school Dean's recommendation (if available)
  • Photocopy of your medical diploma
  • Photocopy of certificate of pathology or dermatology training

NOTE: If a J-1 VISA is needed to study at the Academy (please check with your local embassy to see if this applies to you prior to submitting your Ackerman Academy application), the following (additional) documents are required:

  • Passport information page
  • Financial statement or statement of support (please provide translation and currency type if in language other than English and if in currency other than USD)
  • Proof of health insurance coverage while in the U.S.

NYCOMEC / Ackerman – AOA-approved Osteopathic Dermatopathology Fellowship

Prerequisite: Must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology at time of fellowship. Applicant must have completed an AOA-approved residency in either Dermatology or Pathology.

Deadline: For the 2014 – 2015 fellowship year, the deadline is August 31, 2013.

  • Personal statement
  • AOA-approved Residency Verification letter
  • Transcript of medical school record (original certified copy)
  • Medical school Dean's recommendation (original certified copy)
    NOTE: Foreign medical school graduates, while encouraged when it is possible, are not required to submit a Dean’s letter, unless the school regularly prepares this for its graduates.
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation, including former chief(s) of service
  • A recent photograph
